Doernbecher Children's Hospital is located in Portland, and it has a great reputation in its own field. Nike started to collaborate with Doernbecher ever since 2004, and a project called “Doernbecher Freestyle Collection” was held annually. Children in the hospital can design and create special editions of sneakers in this project, and their boundless imagination created a lot of classic shoe types. All income from this project will be donated to the hospital for more medical facilities and study, and this project is also a public benefit advertisement that speaks for children as well. This Air Force 1 comes from the “Charity”series in 2008, and the designer is Colin Couch. The vamp is covered by grAFfiti style patterns(such as money, crown, signature) that present the passion of life and art. The lining and midsole uses bright fluorescent yellow. The outsole uses crystal texture, and one can see the grAFfiti pattern made by Colin Couch through the outsole. “Poor Richy”can be found under the shoe, and the metal shoelace packle is replaced by a bow-knot. In 2013, Nike re-editioned some past shoe types of Charity series to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the collaboration of Nike and Doernbecher, and this Air Force 1 was one of them. Therefore, this color actually has two editions--2008 and 2013, but they actually look the same in general.
